What a powerful story, Magdalena.

I really admire people who are able to overcome adversity and not let circumstances define them.

You are clearly one of them and now I can see why. Your mum is a wonderful role model ❤️

I am so sorry your mother had to sell her ring, but what a powerful symbol of her love! Thank you for sharing this experience. My Scottish mother-in-law grew up in a small mining town and her family also didn't have much money, especially since her father, who had only one arm, had limited employment opportunities. She used to talk about how her Christmas gift was always an orange, and perhaps one or two other small things. But as you said, the love was there and that was all that mattered.
