Great advice, Magdalena. With so much choice learning must be focused, after why are you learning something in the first place? Unless it's purely for pleasure, learning is usually to attain a goal. And just in time learning is a great approach, especially for tech. Who can learn everything at once? Spoiler: no one.
This was really good, thank you! I enjoyed quite a bit. As a newbie to Substack, I sometimes feel like I have the shiny object syndrome and I’m jumping from one place to another. So this was really helpful!
Really enjoyed the article, and adhere to "Learning should be a joyful experience, not a chore". Building a community where you learn from and with is excellent advice, and dare I say, wisdom.
Good, practical advice that can be implemented immediately.
You emphasize the importance of being focused and of “Just-in-Time Learning”. In other words, tackle one problem and concentrate all efforts on what you are doing with regard to that problem.
And don't be afraid to take actions (small steps) toward your goal even though you haven’t learned all there is to know about the problem.
“Life rewards actions, not intelligence.”
Many brilliant people talk themselves out of getting started on something they need or want to do, but being smart doesn't help very much without the courage to act.

Very true! We can learn one thing at the time but so often we try learning 3 to 5 at the same time! I know, I'm guilty of that!

I'm so glad that you found it useful!!!
Great solution to overwhelm for anyone learning new skills.
Focus on one at a time. The one you need now.
Love the proclamation idea and that learning is supposed to be joyful.
Sometimes it's hard to pick "the ONE" you just need right now - but it's what makes all the difference in the world!
Thank you for sharing your valuable insights with us, Magdalena! They all make sense!! Love your proclamations!

Great article and I loved the analogy with the buffet.
It's about focusing and being intentional.
Also, the part about having fun is great as we often forget that things are supposed to be fulfilling and rewarding.
Joy in learning....what a concept! I know that often I forget to be present to joy when I'm leaning, hence my need for daily reminders!
