Ah, how are you speaking directly to me? I spent two years developing my own oracle deck and I've kept it to myself, it is definitely close to my heart using my own photos of my art for images. I love it too much for it to be criticised! Makes so much sense now. Thank you!

Dear Brambles and Rambles! OMG - I love that you are using your own photos for your deck - that's just so precious! the world needs to see it experiences it! - Bring it on! Cheering you on, M!

Thirty years ago, two intensive novel writing workshops, and loads of conversations, but my novel hasn’t seen the light of day (only portions). You are right. I stopped at the end and now I’m doubting everything about it. I need to finish it (why else would I still be coming back to it all the time?). I’m doing the exercise!

Dear Elaine: I'm so happy for you! and cheering you on! I'm so glad that you are doing the exercise and can't wait to hear about your successes!

I love the tactile image of a drawer in a desk that is filled with “possibles.“ It’s why I hate to throw away all of the work books that I developed for my workshops over the years. Topics included how to start a business, “own yourself, own your business.“ Books about learning to trust yourself based on my book“the courage to trust“ and always including other people’s works and quotes and exercises. Truly 20 page book outlines that flowed and brought people to a place of decision, and giving them a sense of why they wouldn’t go to the next step in business, relationship, addiction. If I actually printed out all the outlines in my “drawer” in my computer, I’d have to get a new office. Much to think about. I’m so sorry that the weekends have been too full lately to attend your lovely workshops. I intend to reengage. Thank you, Magdalena and I’d love to see the covers. As well as read the material. Maybe this book deserves to be born.

Dear Cynthia: thank you for your kind and such a sweat words! We missed you! And I love how you said "If I actually printed out all the outlines in my “drawer” in my computer, I’d have to get a new office." - that is soooo true for so many! I did not even think about all the files that are store on computers - and collecting proverbial dust! Cheering you on , M

I worked on a novel for 15 years and could not get to the last chapter no matter what I did and eventually abandoned it. This year I picked it up again, but the closer I get to finishing the harder it becomes to actually do it

Magdalena Ponurska's avatar

Dear Suzanne: WOW! can't wait to hear..did you get a chance to finish? super curious!!! and yes, the closer we get to the end the harder it seems to be....

Thanks for your enthusiasm. It has felt like the mark of Failure. I am also understanding that some of this is ADHD related. And, I am gathering strategies where I can to see if this time I can finish it.

I went through this last winter with my book but my son gave me a kick in the pants I needed. But this Future Scripting sounds like an amazing habit. I am going to try it!

Magdalena Ponurska's avatar

Dear Laura: I'm so glad to heat that your son was the conduit that you needed ! I do hope you give Future Scripting a try and share your results! Cheering you on, M

Dear Magdalena,

Thank you for describing this so well. I always wondered why am I stopping at the last minute once everything is almost ready. Why do I feel that it is going to decide my worth and my identity is at stake if I move ahead. I have so many folders with written content to post on substack, but it’s like I’m waiting till it’s perfect. And perfect will not come I know. but I’m still not able to go down to doing it. Same with a new business. It’s all set and ready to launch but i feel I’ll be judged, I’m overthinking with the negative what if’s and I’m operating from that attitude. It’s as if my confidence is sleeping.

would love to know more about future scripting that you teach.
