The courage to be a beginner! One thing that traps a lot of people especially in writing is this pressure that they put on themselves to get something perfect the first time, and many times it leads to them abandoning the project because they're worried that they can't get it perfect. If they had realized that they can let themselves and let their first draft be as bad as a beginner's first work, then they won't worry themselves out of completing the project with their impossibly perfect standards.

Dear Mark: you are spot on! like you said: if we "realized that they can let themselves and let their first draft be as bad as a beginner's first work" then we will be completing so much more! Cheering you on, M

I just am just now returned from a 2nd opinion about possible spinal surgery. And he voted NO! "Work on your muscles, get stronger, PT and safe movement. I think you can turn this around." I felt the fear drain from my back, literally. I was holding onto the "cold hands" of afraid to hurt myself. Now I'm on fire with learning the best ways to heal and strengthen myself. The words of a coach, doctor, healer, friend can be all we need to re-install our inspiration and start anew. I have healed myself from so many injuries, ailments, surgeries (hell, I'm 78, no surprise) and I am already doing it again. Phoenix is my new totem animal. And writing about it to bring others to focus on their strengths instead of weakness. Thanks, Magdalena for a great list of 'tudes to start afresh on any project. Blessings, Cynthia xo

Yesterday was the target date of the first future cast I ever wrote with you. Thank you for HOW MUCH those few writing minutes impacted who I became.

Now, the courage to be looked at.

Really like this way of breaking courage down into different forms Magdalena.

The idea that we can be using the wrong kind for the problem in front of us is such an interesting perspective.

Dear Curtis: I'm so glad that it resonated with you! I'm sure you can identify few more types of courage than it's on the list...but I think it's a good starting point...
